In the book of Revelation, chapter 21, God reveals His plan to create a new heaven and a new earth.  Some believe that this earth will last forever, or will one day be reclaimed.

But, Scripture teaches that it all will pass away and a new heaven and new earth will take its place.  Likewise, we will all be made new in Christ and dwell with the One who created us.  There will no longer be death or separation, pain or suffering, want or need.  In verse 6, I like how He says, “It is done”, suggesting that the thing has already been set in motion and cannot be repealed.  I am awestruck by the fact that this is a free gift made possible through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and receiving Him by faith.  No interviews, no conditions, no preconceived notions…just faith.  Jesus says in verse 6 that anyone can freely drink of the living water He offers, you simply must thirst.  Well, I for one am thirsty.  Lord, make me into a new person who loves you wholeheartedly and obeys you completely!
