How do you give thanks on this day to the one who has given you everything?  With what can we give the one to whom belongs all heaven and earth?

David prayed to God in 1 Chronicles 29, “Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty:  for all that is on heaven and in earth is thine…But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly…for all things come of thee."  Can I offer a simple response this Thanksgiving 2015?

#1- Offer acknowledgement…I recently saw a cartoon where a person is offering to Jesus there heart saying, "This is all I have to give."  To which Jesus replies, "This is all I want.” I believe God doesn’t need our stuff, but he desires our acknowledgement that He is God and all good things come from Him.

#2- Offer acceptance…God desires us to accept His way as our way as truly the best way to live our lives.  Paul writes that “having faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck."  You see, when God says no, He is not wanting to be hard, but to protect you from shipwrecking your life.  Accepting His way is a great way to say thanks!

#3- Offer availability…God desires us to show our thanks through serving others.  Through loving others, we show our love for Christ.  Jesus gave His life for us, and we are to sacrifice our lives for our fellow man.  How deep is your love?  It will show through in the way you treat others.

So, this Thanksgiving, what can we offer the One who gave us everything?  We can say thank you with our acknowledgement, our acceptance, and our availability.  Happy Thanksgiving!
