Psalm 73:24 says, "With Your counsel You will guide me, And afterward receive me to glory." Have you ever had the blues?  Been in the dumps, covered in dust, failing to rise?  You're in good company.
I am convinced that if the Bible had a soundtrack, it would be filled with the blues.  Scripture honestly shares the feelings and emotions of those who are struggling in the journey of life.  Why?  So that we might not feel alone when we struggle and so that we, like them, might look to God for understanding and strength.

James, the half-brother of Jesus, taught us to ask God if we lack wisdom concerning our trials and he will answer us.  The psalmist above reminds us that it is the Word of God that gives us counsel, guides us, and gives us an eternal perspective on the trials of this life.

Therefore, the Bible is the compass for our direction, the counselor for our decisions, and the benchmark for evaluating our choices.  It breathes into us words of life so that we can overcome the blues and rise from the dust.

The Bible is not just any book, it is living and transformative. What should be our response?  We must read it, study it, and obey it today!
